Overview

PFAS (otherwise known as ""forever chemicals"") are fast becoming a serious issue for water authorities both in clean and wastewater treatment applications. The aim of this webinar is to provide both a UK and US perspective on the current approach to water treatment to remove these challenging contaminants.

The presentations will seek to outline the current water treatment challenges in both the UK and US, the current legislation landscape and the available technologies/solutions to deal with PFAS.

Kenneth McGibbon, Technical Director and Wastewater Process Emissions Lead, Mott MacDonald

Kenny is an IChemE Fellow and water treatment process specialist at Mott MacDonald. His 24 years of experience includes design-and-build and consultancy roles covering process design, water chemistry, process safety, design review, commissioning and treatment works optimisation. He is passionate about using chemical engineering principles to tackle some of the water industry’s toughest challenges; protecting public health against emerging drinking water contaminants and taking action to reduce wastewater treatment nitrous oxide and methane greenhouse gas emissions.
