  • Location Online: 15:00 GMT. Duration: 1 hour.

Overview

Learn about building a better, more efficient digital way for all workers to operate, maintain, and work in the process industry through digital technology.

Make sense of the data locked in P&IDs and other CAD drawings to solve operational and engineering challenges. And then use software to integrate the various plant data silos into data-driven P&IDs to drive compliance and operational efficiency. This pairs the foundations of plant data systems with the digital twin type tools to deliver powerful, real-world visualisations of all assets at the facility to all plant workers with a modern digitisation platform.

Use cases include, easier data access for:

  • turnaround and project planning
  • project execution
  • operations
  • maintenance
  • engineering.

Speaker

Eric Allen, CEO/Founder, Environmental Intellect

Eric has spent over a decade focused on delivering better ways for the process and plant industries to operate digitally. Eric is a Purdue chemical engineer, a software engineer, and has personally worked in the plant at dozens of the top global companies in the oil and gas, petrochemical, and manufacturing industries.

Before Environmental Intellect, Eric was a traveling consulting engineer, spending 40+ weeks a year on the road visiting customer facilities, working in the field, and interacting with workers across all plant departments. This deep understanding of the plant - its complexity, its workers, and its data systems - has driven the growth of Ei’s team and the development of Ei’s Ei Everywhere digital platform and related digital-first services.

Tom Smith, VP Sales & Account Management, Environmental Intellect

Tom has more than 12 years of experience in the oil, chemicals and energy markets, and is particularly passionate about the development of significant and impactful solutions in those markets.

With a background in fieldwork and chemical engineering, he comes from a blended technical and business background, and spent the first portion of his career as a chemical engineer wearing hard hats, flame retardant coveralls and steel-toed boots inside some of the largest oil and petrochemical operations in the world across the US, Europe, and Asia.

Tom leads a team whose job it is to maximise customer's success, as well as reaching out to new clients about their current and relevant challenges in their digitalisation programs and initiatives across all plant departments.

Tom approaches his relationships transparently and is focused on helping others succeed and solve meaningful, impactful problems. Tom has a BSc in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.
