Overview

A private wireless LTE / 5G network is a cellular mobile network owned and operated by the customer. Network radio equipment is located on site and serves only to support the private network. This provides a number of benefits including speed of response, high data rates, low latency, reliability and enhanced security over a public mobile network and other wireless alternatives such as Wi-Fi. McKinsey recently estimated that private wireless networks can enable operating expenses to fall by 50%, productivity to rise by 35% and EBITDA to increase in some cases by 8-10%. The number of private LTE/5G networks will grow from around 500 in 2020 to 14,000 in 2025.

The target audience are those seeking technology which enables connectivity between assets and control & information systems, where Wi-Fi based networks cannot deliver the speed and reliability required to meet Industry 4.0 & IoT expectations.
