IChemE Palm Oil Processing SIG is delighted to announce that a student-led team from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) won POPSIG Best Final Year Design Award 2020. The title of the project was:

Monetisation of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) into Renewable Energy and Green Chemicals

• Team Members: Irene Teo Lui Ruen (Team Leader), Ross Aidan Lee, Gong King Sean, Bryan Mah Jun Y, Tan Yi Wei, Rahimah Rafeeq.
• Supervisors: Professor Ir Denny Ng (primary supervisor), Assistant Professor Viknesh Andiappan Murugappan (co-supervisor), Assistant Professor Ng Lik Yin (co-supervisor).
