Webinar: Catalytic Upgrading of Palm-based Residues to Valuable Products

- Date From 18th February 2022
- Date To 18th February 2022
- Price Free of charge, open to all.
- Location Online: 18:30 MYT. Duration: 1 hour.
Overview
Approximately of 70 million tons of biomass are generated in Malaysia per year, where ~85.5% of biomass is come from oil palm activity such as plantation, milling and refinery process. Thus, re-usage of these biomass is waste or wealth? This talk will unlock the chemistry code of biomass for various type of conversion process to produce desirable bioproducts.
Speaker
Dr Lee Hwei Voon, Associate Professor, Nanotechnology and Catalysis Research Centre (NANOCAT), University of Malaya
Dr Lee is an Associate Professor based in Nanotechnology and Catalysis Research Centre (NANOCAT), University of Malaya, Malaysia. She obtained her BSc (Hons) Industrial Chemistry and PhD in Catalysis degrees from the Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. Her research expertise is in the field of nanotechnology and catalysis. She is active in the research of catalytic conversion technology, which involves the topics of catalysis design (metal oxide, solid based catalyst, catalyst from waste material); application in renewable energy (liquid and solid biofuels), biochemical synthesis, and advance nanomaterial application (biomass-derived nanocellulose).
