Overview

CEO Day @ UKM is jointly organised by Department of Food Sciences, Faculty of Science & Technology (FST), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC). This is the 3rd CEO Day organised by MPOC since the first one in 2019. POPSIG provides support to MPOC in this event.

This event will provide a platform for students to engage in knowledge and experience sharing session with industry leaders on career and internship opportunities. Highlights of the event include CEO forum, exhibitions, walk-in interviews for job opportunity, food trucks and many more.

Competition 1: Palm Oil TikTok Challenge

Aims

  • Increase the knowledge related to palm oil industry in Malaysia among the students through informative and creative video presentation and enhance their creativity in carrying out literature review
  • Spread awareness on the benefits and positive stories on Malaysian palm oil provides opportunities to cultivate academic, presentation and research communication skills

Conditions of participation

All the requirements listed below must be followed:

  • Open to the public residing in Malaysia (Malaysian and non-Malaysian)
  • Participation is individual
  • Each individual can submit more than 1 video, but only 1 video of each participant will be selected as Top 15 winner
  • Theme: Benefits and Importance of Palm Oil

  • Top 15: Cash prize of RM200 each + certificate
  • All participants: e-certificate

Competition 2: Palm-based Food Product Development

Conditions of participation

All the requirements listed below must be followed:

  • Open to local and international students (aged 18 and above) at Malaysian tertiary institution - including public, private and foreign campuses
  • Participation as a team of 3 to 5 members. Each student can only be involved in one team
  • Only Malay or English languages are accepted
  • Theme: Innovation of Palm Based Food Product

  • Top 5 will win cash prizes up to RM1,500 (per awarded team) + certificate

Competition 3: Sustainable Product Innovation From Palm Waste

Conditions of participation

All the requirements listed below must be followed:

  • Open to local and international students (aged 18 and above) at Malaysian tertiary institution - including public, private and foreign campuses
  • Participation as a team of 3 to 5 members. Each student can only be involved in one team
  • Only Malay or English languages are accepted
  • Theme: Sustainable Product Innovation from Palm Waste
