Webinar: The Use Dynamic Process Simulation And Interactive Virtual Plant For Operator Competence Training
- Date From 25th February 2025

- Location Online: 18:00 MYT. Duration: 1 hour, 15 minutes.
Overview
Operator competency is major factor in the safety, efficiency and environmental impact of any process plant.
Traditional methods of both control room and field operator training are proving less efficient. Also, as plant up time increases and plants become more reliable there are fewer opportunities for operators to experience plant start-ups, shutdowns or abnormal operations. Meaning when these tasks are required the operators are less well prepared.
This presentation will show how simulations can be used to train and assess both new and experienced operators on process plant operations. Presented will be both control room simulation aspects as well as virtual reality process equipment linked to the dynamic simulation mathematical model.
Speaker
Sam Jago, Sales And Customer Support Manager, Technical Simulation Consultants
Sam has over 20 years of experience working in the process industry, with a focus on the Oil and Gas industry. Specialising in the use of dynamic simulation for design safety validation and operator competency.
Gaining on site experience working as a Technical Plant Manager Sam now brings that knowledge to the application of Simulation as a learning tool.
Initially working at TSC as a project Engineer Sam built dynamic simulations based around Oil Production, LNG receiving and full Offshore Oil and Gas production Systems. Eventually specialising on the use of simulation to dynamically validate the design safety of large-scale rotating machinery systems. Now working as Sales and Customer Support Manager Sam has led the delivery of simulations systems around the world and worked closely with client trainers to ensure the simulations provide the ability to train and assess operator competence.
