  • Location Online: 14:00 GMT. Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.

Overview

Rolls-Royce SMR is developing a repeatable factory-built power station, replying on tried and tested pressurised water reactor technology. During this webinar, uncover technical insights on the Rolls-Royce SMR approach to innovation and learn about the Rolls-Royce SMR's place at the heart of the clean energy transition.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions in a live Q&A with design engineers working towards this goal.

Speaker

Brett Longstaffe, Reactor Systems Design Technical Lead, Rolls-Royce SMR

Brett is Reactor Systems Design Technical Lead for Rolls-Royce Small Modular Reactor (SMR), which is developing novel nuclear power station technology that minimises construction times and costs.

Being part of the project from its early phases in 2016, Brett's previous roles within SMR included working as a Fluid System Engineer and Test Development Engineer. However, his career began with a series of secondments as part of the nuclear graduates programme, including to BAE Systems and the UK's Department of Energy and Climate Change. Brett studied at the University of Manchester, achieving a Bachelor’s in chemical engineering, and a Master’s in nuclear science and technology.
