Researchers in the UK from the University of Strathclyde, University of Surrey, and GSK have received a grant of £1 million from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) to develop a less carbon-intensive process for manufacturing antimicrobial drugs from bacteria. The team will use biological engineering to enable food by-products to be used as a feedstock for the bacteria. Source: The Medicine Maker 23/5/2024
