Celtic Renewables signs MOU to clean up Ganges River

In India, Celtic Renewables has signed an MOU with Dross Energy to produce biobutanol from brewery and distillery waste in an effort to clean up the Ganges River. Those industrial waste streams are currently discharged into the holy river that is a source of drinking water for 400 million people. The details of the project weren’t announced, the MOU was claimed as a victory by the Indian transportation minister as well as Scottish Development International who facilitated the introduction. Source: Biofuels Digest 5/12/2018.
