Overview

Join us for a presentation on leak management where we will define types of leaks, actions to take on discovering a leak, leak detection, estimating leak rates, reporting leaks and recommendations for leak registers.

This presentation applies to all process industries including onshore.

Speaker

Matt Hastings, Current Chair of IChemE North Scotland

Matt has worked mainly in the upstream and midstream sectors of the oil and gas industry, in the UK and Australia. As technical authority for a leading independent north sea operator, Matt has a primary focus on process safety and environment through the management of operational and project assurance activities. Matt has also worked at for other leading north sea operators as process technical authority.

In addition to operations, Matt has experience in design and consultancy work, including business development.

Matt has supported the IChemE and the chemical engineering community through membership application interviews, IPD assessments, coaching and mentoring process engineers.

Matt is a keen supporter of energy transition, and would like to support this through passing on the knowledge and skills gained in oil and gas to the next generation of engineers to ensure high professional standards are maintained as industry adapts to new challenges.
