Overview

This is a great opportunity for students, and other interested members to visit Fonterra's Pahiatua plant.

The Pahiatua plant produces approximately 140,000 tonnes of whole milk powder per year, which Fonterra exports to markets around the world.

The technical visit will cover:

• water treatment systems allowing water to be reused by the plant
• evaporators and dryers used to produce milk powder at an industrial scale
• automated packing lines
• the warehouses and logistics used to store and distribute the finished product.

Covered flat footwear is required.
