Overview
Join the Northland regional group on a site visit to the decommissioned oil refinery. For the past year the refinery has been shut down and decommissioned. This is an excellent opportunity to understand the last phase in an asset’s lifecycle on a large complex industrial site.
The site visit will walk through the decommissioned site, hosted by past employees of the refinery, who have been involved with the decommissioning activities. Key areas will be understanding the process required to clean an industrial site that was in service for 60 years, the ongoing requirements to monitor the site and discuss future opportunities for the site.
Time
- 16:30–18:00 - site visit
- 18:30–20:00 - networking at The Port House - nibbles provided and cash bar available
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
Hard hats, steel cap boots, safety glasses and hearing protection.
