Trish Kerin, IChemE's Safety Centre Director was to visit New Zealand in March to talk about the tragic incident at Dreamworld (a Queensland, Australia theme park) and how process safety applies to other industries. Unfortunately, this has been cancelled due to concerns surrounding COVID-19 and will be run as a webinar instead.

On 25 October 2016, four people died while riding the Thunder River Rapids Ride. The immediate cause of this incident was a failed water pump; however, this incident highlights all the aspects of process safety. In this presentation you will learn what occurred in the lead up to the incident as well as how it might have implications for your own industrial facility.
