Overview
We will be hosting our elections for the advertised roles to become part of the NECC Committee for Malaysia. The meeting will be of particular interest to students and early career members looking to gain CPD, build global networking connections with our counterparts in the UK&I and Australia and gain leadership competencies via volunteering. We especially welcome students and early career engineers with fewer than five years of working experience to join the team.

Please note that you will need to be an IChemE member to join the committee.
If there is more than one suitably qualified candidate for a role, an online vote, open to all group members will be carried out. As voting will take place ahead of the annual meeting, the results of the election will be announced at the annual meeting.
Speakers
Ir Dr Christina Phang, Founder & Director, Grip Global (S) PTE LTD
Christina is a Chartered Chemical Engineer, Professional Process Safety Engineer and a Fellow of IChemE. She is registered with the Board of Engineers (BEM) in Malaysia and Professional Engineers Board (PEB) in Singapore and has 30 years’ experience in the safety and risk management sector. Christina was the recipient of the IChemE Franklin Medal in 2016, which recognises her contribution to industry in the area of process safety and loss prevention. She is currently an Adjunct Lecturer with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in the Chemical Engineering Faculty and also serving as a Non-Executive Director at IChemE Malaysia.
Ts Hafizul Hayazi, Senior Business Development Executive, PETRONAS
Ts Hafizul graduated with a BEng in chemical engineering from the University of Melbourne. He is also a registered member with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and Malaysian Board of Technologies (MBOT) with over seven years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. Earlier in his career, he started as an assistant operations engineer after which he worked as a process technologist on improving the safety of a delayed coker unit and a hydrocracker. Currently as a Senior Business Development Executive, Ts Hafizul works on developing projects focusing on Environmental and Social Governance (ESG), primarily involving in decarbonization projects.
The session will not be recorded and therefore not be available to watch after the event.
