Overview

Real examples of how engineers adapted to working during the pandemic, facing restrictions on travel: three sessions (presentations + questions) covering how engineers used digital remote viewing and data connectivity technologies to continue delivering continuous improvement, capital projects and start-ups as well as safety reviews then a presentation from the Oil and Gas industry explaining more established practices, again accelerated by the pandemic. After each talk there will be opportunities to discuss potential pitfalls and consider future ways of working post-pandemic - what does, and does not work, in practice.

Paul Newman, AkzoNobel

Paul Newman is the regional lead for Continuous Improvement across AkzoNobel's Paint and Coatings plants in the EMEA region, responsible for delivering performance improvement programmes in manufacturing across the 40 sites in the region.

Jean Pierre Bruillot, Oliver Batlle

Jean Pierre Bruillot is the head of Sales and Marketting at the Spanish process system and equipment manufacturer Oliver Batlle, with a strong business strategy and practical implementation knowledge with extensive experience in the paint industry.

Ali Mokhber, University of Greenwich

Ali Mokhber is a process safety consultant with 28 years’ experience in process design in the Energy industry, specialising in safety reviews such as HAZOP, LOPA, SIL HAZID and ENVID. Also, a part time university lecturer in fundamental chemical engineering and advanced process safety engineering.

Avinash Mohan, BP

Trinidad born and currently living in the UK is a chartered chemical engineer working in the Oil & Gas industry for the past 15 years in operations and projects globally with a strong background in project management and commissioning (onshore & offshore) and managing EPC contractors and vendors.
