Presenter
Colin Hale, Senior Teaching Fellow, Imperial College London
Colin holds a Masters degree and Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London. Prior to his appointment as a Senior Teaching Fellow within the Department he worked as a Research Fellow on multiphase flow for both the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry and also in nuclear thermal hydraulics.
He developed pioneering techniques for X-ray tomographic imaging of multiphase flows through pipeline which is now deployed widely as well as a pilot scale test facility for replicating asphaltene fouling processes occurring in petroleum refinery heat exchangers.
In 2011, he was the Chemical Engineering Graduate Teaching Assistant Nominee for the Faculty of Engineering Teaching Excellence Award. He currently has a lead role in commissioning and operating the Department's pilot scale absorption plant for carbon capture.
