Aoife is a chemical engineer who graduated from UCD in 2005. Since 2017, she has been the process engineering director at FDT Consulting Engineers and Project Managers, where she works on a variety of process and utilities projects in the pharmaceutical, brewing and beverage industries.

Aoife holds an MSc in renewable energy and energy management and an IBD distilling diploma. Energy efficiency and sustainability have long been core areas of interest. She has published two research projects funded by the Irish EPA, which investigated industrial CO2 recovery and reuse to reduce emissions and the most efficient treatment of distillery co-products, respectively.

Since September 2020, Aoife has been the secretary of the IChemE All Ireland Members Group and is also a member of the Pharma Special Interest Group committee.
