Overview

Springfields Fuels has provided fuel and associated services to the UK and Global nuclear industries since its inception in the 1940s. This presentation intends to provide a history of the site as well as a summary of some of the plants, processes and products arising there. Finally the presentation will point toward the future of the site and how it may develop in the next decade or so.

Speaker

Adam Mason, Westinghouse IChemE Members

Adam is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years experience in the nuclear industry across operations and technical support, commissioning, safety case management and design. Having worked for and on Sellafield site for much of that time he has recently joined Westinghouse and has spent the last two and a half years supporting and leading Springfields Fuels growth projects.

Adam has built a small process team at Westinghouse, initially as part of Westinghouse Environmental Services (UK) and, latterly, as part of the Global Engineering and Component Services (GECS) group. He continues to expand and develop of capability of this team to meet the needs of the company and growing nuclear market.
