Speakers
Mike Hancock, Co-founder of Avioxx Ltd.
Mike graduated with PhD in chemical engineering and joined Shell Chemicals to work on olefins manufacture, prior to moving to ammonia and fertilisers at Ince. He then worked in corporate planning at ICI before setting up his energy consultancy. Mike is a Fellow of the IChemE and Fellow of the Energy Institute. He is co-founder of Avioxx Ltd.
Duncan Birtwistle, Senior Project Engineer, Progressive Energy
Duncan is a Senior Project Engineer at Progressive Energy. He manages the HyNet Alliance which through which multiple companies come together to deliver low-carbon energy in the North West and accelerate the green transition. He has an MEng in Civil Engineering from Bristol University and previously worked for Seven Trent Water in various capacities.
Amanda Lyne, Managing Director and Cofounder of ULEMco
Amanda has over 20 years’ experience in the hydrogen and fuel cell technology sector, and is a specialist in the commercialisation of clean tech businesses.
Currently, she is Deputy Chair of the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association and during her career has held senior positions, most notably in the Chlor-Alkali industry, which produces hydrogen as a bi-product of the chlorine production process.
Reuben Singh, PhD Student
Reuben is a 1st year PhD student researching Hydrogen Supply Chain Optimisation. He has an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University and has previously worked for Shell under their Trading and Supply business in various capacities.
Scott Caldwell
Scott Caldwell has recently obtained a PhD in Maritime and Mechanical Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University. His thesis was titled ‘Empirical Decision-Making Tools as Applied to Seaports in the Industry 4.0 Paradigm’. He has a BSc (Hons) in Maritime Studies and a MSc in Maritime Operations Management from Liverpool John Moores University. He currently works as a Funding and Monitoring Officer in the Growth Horizons project at Liverpool John Moores University, delivering Industry 4.0 solutions to local SMEs.
