The R&I CoP’s second annual meeting took place to allow members to hear updates on the CoP’s activity, to meet the volunteers making up the leadership group and to present the Nicklin Medal winner, Dr Hannah Leese, with her award.

Up to five vacancies were available for committee member positions on the R&I CoP leadership group. These five positions were filled by:

- Benaiah Anabaraonye
- Billie Hiew
- Adrian Jonas
- Minerva Ledezma Martinez, and
- John Williams

Speaker
Dr Hannah Leese, Prize Fellow at the University of Bath, UK
Dr Hannah Leese is an early-career researcher at the Centre for Sustainable and Circular Technologies (CSCT) and Centre for Biosensors, Bioelectronics and Biodevices (C3Bio), UK. She received the Nicklin Medal, which recognises talented chemical engineering researchers, for her ground-breaking work on developing technologies for early detection of disease, including sepsis and ovarian cancer.
Dr Leese has held positions at Imperial College London, UK, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, The University of Manchester, UK, as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, and is currently a Prize Fellow at the University of Bath, UK.
