As an organisation that’s wholly reliant on water, we understand more than most how it makes the North West stronger, greener and healthier. And as custodians of the region’s most precious resource, we aim to ensure our water is safe and secure now and for generations to come.
We currently help protect over 1,300km of coastline and around 7,000km of rivers across the region managing over 70,000km of pipes and 2264 Combined storm overflows: in doing so, we serve over seven million people and 200,000 businesses across five great counties. Using the latest technology and the natural water cycle, we ensure that these homes and business's receive clean, safe drinking water, 24 hour hours a day, 7 days a week and return the treated wastewater safely back into the environment.
Engineering plays a vital role in planning, creating, operating and maintaining the assets needed for this service and a major part of this work is undertaken by our in-house Engineering Directorate which includes the largest process engineering team in the UK Water Industry. We are firmly committed to recruiting and developing the best graduate engineers and are proud to have institution accreditation for all our graduate training schemes including that of the IChemE.
