Membership & Qualifications Committee
The Membership & Qualifications Committee is responsible to the Board of Trustees for the role of the Institution as a qualifying body. The Committee has delegated authority for all aspects of qualification, election, transfer and maintenance of membership, from Student to Fellow. The Committee also has oversight of the professional registration of appropriately qualified members to Engineering Council, Science Council, Society for the Environment, and Board of Professional Engineers Queensland.
The Membership & Qualifications Committee is chaired by the Vice President (Qualifications).

Helen has been involved with IChemE membership committees for over ten years, in a variety of roles. She is currently the representative for Professional Process Safety Engineer on the Membership and Qualifications Committee.

Omar Matar
Emerging technologies / branches of chemical engineering
Omar is a Professor of Fluid Mechanics, and Head of Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. He previously occupied the position of Vice-Dean (Education) for the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial.
