Arup recognised for valuing professional membership

Arup is the latest company to be recognised by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) as a Bronze Corporate Partner. The global provider of engineering solutions is well-known within the chemical engineering profession for its work in water and waste management sectors, and has a global presence with offices in 42 countries worldwide.

Arup has been recognised for demonstrating a clear commitment to engineering professionalism following a recent move in which the company has agreed to meet the cost of IChemE membership fees for all eligible employees.

A certificate of recognition was presented at Arup’s office in Leeds, UK, where the team works closely with Yorkshire Water on capital schemes, infrastructure and environmental projects. The certificate was presented to Arup’s associate director Vincent Glancy, by IChemE’s deputy chief executive, Justin Blades and UK membership and market development executive, Victoria Darcy.

The organisations support for professional membership is just one of three criteria that must be met to secure Bronze Corporate Partnership. Arup also offers an IChemE accredited company training scheme, which has been running for several years, and actively encourages its staff to take part in professional activities through IChemE.

Glancy, said: “As a Chartered engineer myself, I know that professional membership and registration is hugely valuable – particularly when you are still carving a career for yourself.
