Demonstrating CPD

Demonstrating CPD forms part of the application requirement for some grades of IChemE membership and professional registrations and following the award of the grade and/or professional registration, carrying out appropriate CPD along with keeping an ongoing plan and record of CPD carried out is a requirement.

In line with Engineering Council requirements, IChemE reviews a random sample of Members CPD records annually.

IChemE will also annually conduct a random sampling on behalf of the various awarding bodies (Engineering Council, The Science Council, Society for the Environment etc) to ensure the member/registrant are meeting the respective bodies’ CPD revalidation requirements.

This verification process ensures that the selected Members provide evidence of their CPD history and current near term professional development plans, and the process by which they manage their CPD.

As part of the review, Members will be contacted and asked to complete a relevant submission form and provide supporting evidence. Supporting evidence may be reported using the mycareerpath online CPD recording tool, although other reporting methods will be accepted.
